Disability insurance

  • In the event of an accident or illness, you can ensure that:
    • you have income to help maintain your present lifestyle;
    • your company is protected when you are unable to work.

After an accident or illness, you may file for benefits if you receive medical care and meet one of the following conditions:

  • Total disability: You are unable to perform the important duties of Your Occupation and you are not engaged in any gainful occupation;
  • Partial disability: You are not Totally Disabled and you are engaged in Your Occupation or any gainful occupation and you are unable to perform:
    • either one or several important duties of Your Occupation, or;,
    • the important duties of Your Occupation at least one-half of the time normally required;;
  • Residual disability : You are not Totally Disabled, you are engaged in Your Occupation or any gainful occupation and you are unable to earn more than 80% of Your Prior Earnings.
